This Act allocates $70 billion in funding to the Depart of Homeland Security, U. Customs and Border Patrol, and ICE through FY2029.
Some things the funding will cover:
- Funding for child exploitation investigators and forensics analysts
- Procurement of equipment and “innovative technologies,” to fight against the entry or exit of illicit narcotics at ports of entry and along the southwest, northern, and maritime borders.” This includes procurement that allows for upgrades in Marine and Airforce, as well as border surveillance technologies.
- There is also a significant budget for “necessary expenses for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s mission support and operations and maintenance for functions other than those related to its immigration enforcement and customs missions.”
